Gen 1 you just need a bunch of exclusives + glitches for Mew (and if you consider Mew to be hacking, then fine, you dont need him for completion). A bunch of trades and resets for starters/Eevee/fossils and you're done.
Gen 2 is even easier because of breeding, so no need to reset. Just a few trades, trade your gen 1 dex up and you're done. VC version even gives you the Celebi event.
Gen 3 is probably the most difficult one considering you need all of FRLGRSE and the GC games, but it's not exactly hard, either, just time consuming. Grind a bit for Ho-Oh on Colosseum and the hardest part is done. Mythicals aren't necessary for completion.
Gen 4+ is easy mode because of GTS and Wonder Trade (Gen 6+) and mystery gift events giving mythicals every month. You can complete the Pokedex in these games by yourself
