>>38909784The only one I genuinely like is Eldegoss, because his little cape reminds me of Swadloon. Other than that yeah, they all look like Temtem or Yokai Watch monsters, the artstyle is so different from everything we've had. I know Pokemon has changed a lot over the years, but it was gradual, the kind you don't notice until you compare side by side but even then it still fits nicely within the franchise. But here, it's just so different, they genuinely don't look like Pokemon, specially that new imp thing. Compare it to Sableye, this thing has a generic kodomo monster silhouette, it doesn't have that charm Pokemon's creatures have, that je ne sais quoi that made it stand out.
Back when the Alola starters were leaked I immediately knew they were real because they simply looked like something GF would make, I don't know how to explain, but I just knew. But this time, had these designs been leaked then I honestly would've thought they were all shitty fakemon, with their weird proportions, being literally just animals, their bright, saturated colors, etc. They're all so jarring, I can't believe these are real.
