this is genuinely because they want to update the shitty XY animations.

Like maybe they actually took on board the criticism and all those floating birds will actually flap their goddamn wings, and the Flying types that sit on the ground will actually fly.
Maybe mons that are weak with poor movepools will be balanced to stand a chance in the Gen 8 meta.

Besides, year 2 of the VGC meta is always National Dex. So surely they'll patch them in by the end of 2020.

Maybe they genuinely do want more time to get them right.

That's because GF has been copying the same db file from game to game and just adding entries and columns as needed. It's the reason ability, move, and item ids haven't changed in generations.

It's fun to watch if you hate yourself. Unlike with Zexal, they didn't bother changing their tone to match the show as it got darker. So while Zarc's out there killing people, he sounds like a cross between a clown and Skeletor.

Literally the point of the culling is because they couldn’t make new models/textures for all 800+ Pokémon by the release without delaying. And we’ve seen so far every single Pokémon has a new animation or something new with their models.

Home doesn’t come out until early 2020 aka February. GameFreak can always add a patch in by then or afterwards. People are literally mad over nothing.

This is the whole PokeBank X&Y situation all over again.

No anon. They said in the treehouse that they are making new ones/updating them and can’t do all of them by the release of the game and rather than delay it, they are keeping the ones they’ve finished into the final product after picking out which ones they wanted.

The whole damn reason they have used the same models for 3 generations now is because the models were made to be future proof so they wouldn't need to constantly make them for each game, this is simply lazy, "not enough time" they had time to make LGPE - a game no one asked for, they had fucking time to do the little bit of work on the models. Besides, Gamefreak aren't the ones making the models. Stop making excuses for pure laziness.
