I still haven't bought a Switch because the Pokemon games are usually the system seller for me. My heart hurts but my wallet is pretty happy. At this rate Breath of the Wild 2 might be the reason I finally cave.

Get new Bros. There is a chance your bro is in the regional Dex anyway. Do you really care if your bro is stuck in usum or X and Y? How big of a deal is it really that you won't be able to use you're lvl 100 chimecho in Galar. A bunch of fuckin crybabies.

Breath of the Wild was indescribably good. Once you get off tutorial plateau, anyway.

Pokemon was my system seller too.

I got the Switch in anticipation, I tried BOTW just because, and maaan, had I known.

The fact that there is a BOTW2 coming makes the Pokehurt seem ... pretty manageable, really.

TL;DR There are some GREAT games for the Switch already, you won't regret the purchase.

(However, if you don't get a Switch after all, at least get the emulator and play the BOTW rom on your PC)

This is all a marketing gimmick to sell a ton of the third installment for Galar/Sword & Shield, which features ALL the pokemon, but will mostly be exactly like the first two games in the series.

I don't need Pokemon $$ when I've got other games to keep me occupied. Either GF/Creatures get their fucking act together, Nintendo buys them fully and tightens their fucking leashes, or Pokemon goes to a competent dev studio, I will gladly keep my bros all safe. I waited on US til it went on a cheap sale for Black Friday. I can wait for the inevitable 3rd version.

I already played a good deal of BotW on the WiiU emulator and I loved it. I probably will buy it for BotW2 then I'll buy the rest of the games I've wanted to play but weren't tempting enough to buy the Switch for.

Every single thing you listed was about NEW Pokemon (read also: forms, items, etc.) being added into NEW games and not being updated into OLD games. This is about OLD Pokemon being transferable to NEW games which is the exact opposite situation. Nothing of this nature in any way has occurred a single time since the transition from Gen 2 to 3 and it's not going to now, at least not permanently.
