Even the people I see defending the idea of locking out non-Galar pokemon seem to be under the impression that people are demanding all pokemon be available for transfer on release, or misunderstood and are just assuming a patch will come fix it.
The reality is that they said they're completely out of the game and that this is the design moving forward, which is pure shit, since it makes it literally impossible to catch every pokemon without trading or having multiple games. Even if you just wanted to keep them in Home, nobody can trade you them.
