DS Pokemon was the peak in general. Platinum, HGSS, BW2 are all the peak of the mainline series. Even if you don't like one of these, it's hard to deny the DS was hands down the best generation for Pokemon quality.

OP here,
I don't want to cut them from the dex but just go back to the great pokemon games. If Gamefreak made games this good with the new pokemons, it would be amazing of course.

Yeah most of those load screens have similar things depending on the location and time of day. FRLG had it too but not as good.

My ultimate dream is a 2D Gen 3 style game graphically (nicer sprites but basic overworld) with increased challenge and more focus on story to run alongside the 3D games for the generation that misses how expressive the pokemon were and how much personality the games had.

Yeah I remember them as one of the cool features of the old games, the berry forest one in FRLG is especially memorable.

I'm baffled as to how they were able to draw and animate all those fucking pokemon back in B/W era, (wich is apparently more difficult than doing it with pre-existing 3d models from S/M and the like), and now they are bitching about it like fucking idiots....
