I dropped Pokemon after Black because I was so disappointed with it but I heard that it fixes its issues. How exactly does it improve from Black? I really dislike the current 3D models + world they have going now & this is the last game I haven't played before that era.

They improved a lot of stuff BW got wrong. Much more pokemon, pokemon from old generations, better sprites, etc. I might be biased because my bros Arcanine, Ampharos, Magnezone are all available early in that game.

The games are pretty cool. Pokestar can be cool or not depending on what you consider a nice replacement for contests. The games follow pretty much everything from BW but make them feel really connected to previous gens, too.

I personally believe this is the peak of the series, or at the very least, they're my favorites.
It adds back old Pokemon, has some better quality of life features (I believe these games were the first to introduce the prompt to use a Repel immediately again after it runs out), and these games are actually kind of challenging, at least on the appropriately titled Challenge Mode.
The postgame is also packed full of tons and tons of stuff to do too.

Yeah I remembered it was BW2 to introduce the automatic repel prompt, not BW.
Even more reasons BW2 is so much better than BW. If only Challenge mode was available from the start.
