If it takes some time to do it, it doesn't matter. Just as long as it eventually happens.
I use Showdown to practice, but for me, the games are the "real" thing. Anyone can theorize a team in Showdown, I think the real competitives take the time and process to make a team. If we can't have our tools in the main series, what's the point? Showdown is exactly what it says it is. Just a simulation of the real game so you don't make an Attack buffed Charizard and realized you fucked up after a month of building in game.
Clicking and poof making teams in Showdown where you don't have to work for it is shallow in comparison to having a team you raised from eggs.
