I didn't play USUM, but at least it had all the Pokemon.

Having access to all the Pokemon is literally the only thing that kept me playing. The excitement of seeing how each gen's new moves, abilities and meta would affect my old favorites and allow me to build new teams. The actual game content has been sliding downhill harshly for almost a decade. Once you take away the complete roster of Pokemon, what's left in the games really isn't worth argument or comparison at all.

I hated XY with a passion, ORAS was worse than RSE, and U/SM were merely tolerable with some nice high points

I only gave them a pass because I still had my bros with me, and I always liked the new rosters

Now? What the series offers isn’t worth the entry fee. I might as well play digimon.
