>>38928976I feel the same. I first played through Y doing a Nuzlocke run and had a lot of fun with it, and I even found my first shiny pokemon (a Wild Kangaskhan). Throughout it all my Venusaur was an absolute bro who would always seem to make it just when he needed to, and I had a lot of fun experiencing his mega, who's practically my favorite pokemon at this point.
He was the only survivor of the run, and I've since carried him through the rest of the 3DS games, earning him each and every ribbon simply because I enjoyed doing so and using a Gold Cap when SM came so that I could finally use him in competitive alongside some others I loved from past gens, and he's been an absolute staple of my teams. I love him quite dearly, and while he does have a good chance to survive the purge (he is a kanto starter) and his Mega might be locked in postgame (I hope), I still feel heartbroken since many of my other favorites won't get in and the bromons of others won't either. Hell, Venusaur still might not make it, he just has a good chance of doing so but he could still be given the boot.
It's just upsetting to me, really. I'm not gonna say "RIP" since I still have him on USUM currently and he might make it in but the prospect of leaving behind some of my favorites regardless of who they are simply because Game Freak didn't want to make a delay to fix the issue is just...man I don't even really know how to put it into words. It just feels like a pit in my stomach or something.
