Didn't Gamefreak say at one time that they put new Ideas for new Pokemon through rigorous discussion? How the hell did this get a pass? This honestly is proof they no longer care.

OP doesn't seem to understand that simplicity, stylization, goofiness, basically everything weebs hate about this design are loved by Japanese people. Look at Hello Kitty, look at their whole gigantic corporate mascot culture. Pokemon like this are designed to be slick, straightforward icons that kid fans could easily draw.

You're looking at it from the perspective of not only an American, but an American adult who thinks "more realistic" and "more detailed" are both 1:1 measures of quality.

Not really. No digimons' art style is close to this. Also, saying something looks like a Digimon is kinda pointless because it hasn't kept any consistent art style for longer than a few years. Digimon don't look like Digimon, more often than not.

It looks like a crackhead sabeleye. They started out strong by revealing dreadnaw and corviknight so I’m hoping this is just one of the worse new Pokémon.

Why do people seriously think this looks like a gen 1 pokemon. Gen 1 had the most focus on anatomy for physical parts. If they had just changed the proportions and gave it normal arms/legs it would've been a solid design. Even Mr.Mime or Mankey, which are the closest design wise to noodle limbs, have calves/knees/elbows.
