I think backwards transfering is only forbidden once you put them in SWSH.
So non-Galar Pokemon should still be able to go back to Gen 7 games.

The Home diagram suggests SwSh are the only games that can get pokémon FROM it, even though all the others can send pokémon TO it.

Meaning any pokémon not on the Galar-dex that is sent to Home will be locked there until a new game comes out and have them on the regional dex.

Oh and another thought. Unless the specific mythicals are in the Galar dex, we won't be seeing events for those for most likely years.

I imagine either the ability to send a Pokemon from Home to the Box will come later (meaning this diagram will be inaccurate), or Home will reject Pokemon that Sword and Shield doesn't have.
Or maybe a third option where your Pokemon is trapped in limbo because someone didn't think things through.

Is it possible that Home is actually more of a game in itself than just a bank clone?
Might just be wishful thinking but maybe there are ways to play with your pokemon only using "Home"?

They have already said you can trade with other people using HOME, but other features are unknown so far. Online battling? Maybe at a push. Breeding? I doubt it. EV training? Almost certainly not. A Pokémon-Amie-style thing to play with your Pokémon? Never in a million years.
