Like how they couldn't figure out how to use assets without copying and pasting every single thing for every route and building.
Or how they couldn't figure out how to resize the resolution of their future proof models so made the game lag if more than 2 are on screen.
Even if the pokemon behave differently, which they don't, they don't need new models for that. Inability to capture is just a flag. Stats are just data that can be manipulated with formulas.
They're just legit that fucking awful at programming. There is no benefit to how they do things, only negatives. It saves like, a second of load time. Thats necessary depending on what your programming, but video games don't need to be that precise.
They waste a ton of space and effort and time because they don't develop like every other competent company. Then they make even more poor decisions to get around their incompetent programming. See shitty textures, frame drops, etc.
Considering their reason for culling pokemon is super weak and vaguely covers different excuses, it's pretty likely their shit coding has something to do with it.
