Metagross has been getting worse and worse. Even in Gen 5 people wanted it to drop to UU because it really wasn't worth OU then.

That's because of all the power creeps of the last 6 years. Now with the purge of half or more of the dex Metagross can shine again.

You do realize that if most of the OU mons are gone, namely Lando and Ferrothorn, Metagross will shoot back up to the OU? You're forgetting that it's a pseudo with a decent typing.

Swampert is back to being mediocre, you mean.
Metagross is probably gonna benefit from the shrunken Dex and be fairly good.
