Completely unconfirmed. The translator at E3 messed up. Ohmori just compared Mega Evolution and Z-Moves to Dynamax.

Mega Venusaur is my favorite thing to come from any of these games and to see my pal go be able to take on Charizard on equal terms is awesome to me and makes their clashes all the more dynamic, not like that dynamax bullshit. Not only are they barring most pokemon from this region permenantly but now I can't even wait until the post game to use this?

Fuck this I'm out. I'd transfer my pokemon backwards to gen 6 if it was possible but I'll just be content to have my squad that I've assembled throughout the years of my life, one member for each generation, to be chillin' forever in a tropical vacation. Better that than this dogshit region.

They won't code half the pokemon in.
They won't code Megas in
They won't code Z-Moves in, despite them being much lower-key than Megas
The new pokemon designs are fucking atrocious (Yamper especially doesn't even have fucking legs, just feet, and just looks like a radioactive twinkie mixed with a fursuit)
They gutted every single fucking thing I loved about pokemon to "improve the animations and for balancing reasons" and they can't even fucking do that right
They're rushing this shit out and refuse to slow down to take the time to actually fix the issues

And some people are STILL defending this shit. I was looking forward to this, you know. I genuinely liked the Alola Games and loved playing through them despite the flaws and Kalos is my favorite region. But this? This is too fucking far even for me.

Fuck Masuda, fuck Game Freak, fuck all of them for disrespecting Iwata's memory and fuck the shills who keep supporting the game.

It's just wrong. All of this just feels morally wrong. I know it's not a crime or anything but it just feels disgraceful and wrong, and I don't know why I feel that way but I just do.

Hot take: Megas were badly implemented. Most of them either went to OUmons who didn't need them in the first place, or they went to subpar Mons who would never be used as a team's sole Mega over anything better. This would be a great opportunity to actually make mons like Glalie, Kangaskhan and Beedrill useful on their own without the use of a gimmicky crutch.

But naturally Gamefreak won't actually give compensatory buffs to Mons that are losing Megas, so this change is a net loss.

Unfortunate, because most megas have different movesets and ev spreads than their non mega variants. What good are pulse moves on non mega Blastoise? What good is Hyper Voice on non mega Salamence? Why would I run 252 speed Jolly on Metagross if he'll go back to base 70 after three turns?

Wow, this might be one of the worst E3 for a franchise I've ever seen. First, they hit their fanbase with a gut punch by outright not coding in the 800+ Pokemon into the game. Now, they outright removed features from the past game because of balance. When they literally could've rearrange the BST of past Pokemon and redone past abilities to make them viable.

I don't know how GF could get any worse at this E3? Hell, they may come out and say we're tired of creating Post-game and didn't include on in SS.

What happened is that balanced went out of whack and popular competitive Pokemon also got them which also caused complaining

Z-moves ended up as tactical nukes/set-up boosts

LO mix CHOMP can be faster and deal similar damage without sacrificing a Mega.
Audino gets a doubles chance ability and not much else.
Steelix got stats but it's so situational and outside of stab EQ Aggron does the whole mega deal better.

Those are the only 3 Megas that kinda flop on their concept.

Meanwhile Z moves just gave better tools to better Pokémon instead of helping shitmons become better like Medicham, Mawile, Absol and Beedrill got with Megas.

Think of it, would you use rockium z with Gliscor or with Landorus T? Different Pokémon, same typing and coverage option but Landorus T is the better Z move user.

Now this fucking shit, it is a stat and power increase to break through, it only makes the power gap worse.

Megas were OK but needed more balancing.

It was kinda cool to see what people would come up with thanks to Megas, then they dropped it for something that was even more broken at wallbreaking.

Fuck it Megas gave us Sableye, Slowbro and Venusaur, those two were chunky boys, at least Megas favored more than one playstyle.

Heck playing with baton pass lopunny+trapper or snipping with mega Gengar was so much fun, the more I think about it Megas were actually fun to use even if it wasn't that fun to face primal reversion and Megafug.

We need Megas back.

Do you really want to be dealing with 5 different gimmicks in the next few years? Wondering whether that dipshit on the other team is going to mega evolve, z move, dynamax, or whatever the fuck else they pull out of their assholes?

Now what they should do is make some of them into traditional evolutions to old mons and maybe some regular moves for specific pokemon, and stop adding new gimmicks like that forever
and forget mega rayquaza, salamence, and metagross, etc. ever existed
