Is anyone else still excited to play SwSh? I don't play competitive battles and have never traded pokemon between generations. Literally nothing has changed for me and I will still play amd enjoy this generation. Stay sad, friends. There are real problems in the world you should be crying about.

No, the dex cut doesnt impact me at all since I never bothered transferring postgame and used ingame mons for the battle facility.

However, the games dont do it for me. Theres nothing going on yet. The gym system is back to square one, the wild area is co op focused and just another place to catch pokemon, and it looks like the IV and EV system hasn't changed. So theres nothing new besides overpowered moves for 3 turns a battle. I'm not impressed but I'll wait for more trailers.

When they add a bunch of pokemon in a gen the designs are usually really weak.
Gen 5 is the gen that brought us Vanillite and Klink.

Gen 6 and 7 had far better designs.

Plus adding a bunch of Mons just makes their widdle pwoblem even worse.

I'm the same here, but I don't like the fact that'll I cant complete a full pokedex in a game. Its more of about the soul of pokemon as a concept. Idk its difficult. I have felt that they have been cutting corners big time, and this just solidified it. I think back to the aesthetics and atmosphere of gen II (my first real gen) and I compare it to now, and it just makes me sad. Those games were bare bones, true, but they still seemed to have alot more to offer than what is going on here.

Klink isnt fresh. I never found vanillite to be so bad, but at least magnemite has a cyclops thing going on between the magnets that make it look like a unique creature. Klink line is literally just gear parts

Nah. I was decently hyped at the reveal but the more I see the more I'm turned off. It's just a really ugly game from an artistic stand point. Not even graphically, just artistically. The characters don't look like they're part of the world. It reminds me of one of those ugly shitpost MMO shops people parade around. Pic related for example. It looks like all the assets are from different games.

Also I don't normally care about graphics (Art direction and graphic quality are different beasts to me) but the Pokemon look very, very nice while everything else is a mess and much like how the art direction clashes this clashes too. Like you see this really beautiful Pikachu model standing next to a poorly done tree and it pulls you out of it.

I liked XY-USUM for what they were. They had flaws but I enjoyed my time but unless this game goes through some massive changes I feel like I'd just constantly get distracted by the ugly world around me.

Also the Dex thing is a huge blow against it but I'd have forgiven it if they actually did work on the animations. It's one thing to sacrifice them for the quality of the game, it's another thing to stand on stage and outright fucking lie.

Of course I'm still gonna play and enjoy it. I buy these games to set out on new adventures, not to move old pokemon to new games.

That's what Home is gonna be for. If I ever feel like getting a living pokedex together, I'll just play through the old games and push to Home.

And why push them to anything in that case? If I wanted a living dex, it wouldn't be cause I wanna use every Pokemon, it'd be because I want to see that I have them all in one place. Home seems to be built for that, especially since you can apparently trade in Home.

I think that may be GF's idea even. That Home is going to be the new National Dex while each individual game from now on will be it's own contained Dex, no longer needing you to have access to the old games to 100% the new ones.

The map isn't a 1:1 recreation. A lot of the cities are shrunk or shortened on it. Like the snowy city looks tiny but it's actually pretty big. A whole plaza isn't on the map.

Also, you're not accounting for caves or other indoor areas we'll be going through.

Each pokemon game I always use the pokemon available to me in the region, but in the post game I always bring in the first stages of my favorite mons and train them up to level 100. The prospect of a few of them not being available at all does concern and disappoint me. I'll probably play this game just to satisfy my curiosity. I've never played or cared about the game competitively, but I did like raising mons with beneficial natures and strong move sets just to go through the game and battle my friends with. What I want the most out of this game is a postgame like gen 5's where I had a huge varity of strong trainers to rematch daily. Even better yet, a returning VS. seeker and stronger trainer teams would be amazing. But given all the news and information being revealed I know I will be disappointed.
