>>38946325I have autism, albeit mild, and I have to work with neurotypicals on a daily basis. I am a programmer.
Can confirm that I obsessively control and make sure that everything is exactly fucking perfect. I have to hand hold my team members, some much more senior than I, with everything, because they constantly and consistently miss details that are required for our systems to work properly.
It pays off because after doing that for a couple years and showing them that, surprise surprise, doing things CORRECTLY is CORRECT, they've given me decent bonuses and pay raises and promotions. All because, unlike the fucking neurotypicals, I follow one simple philosophy: do things CORRECTLY.
But the problem with that is that neurotypicals don't like that. For some reason, they like to make decisions that make their work take longer, such as developing a system that isn't thought out, or "let's just try it", or they have long conversations about stupid shit for an hour that could be explained in a simple 2 minute email.

Correction: Perfectionism attempted by a neurotypical (or groups of them) leads to underachieving.
If the developers at GameFreak actually had (mild) autism, then we wouldn't have any issues with keeping all the Pokemon, because they would, by their own individual choices, choose to do things CORRECTLY.
Of course, the shitty versions of autism don't count for this. Those people are worse productivity-wise than neurotypicals.
