GF are shtty developers and they barely delivery a game every year when they were making 2D games.
Whit 3D games you need more time to make all the world and making it look good, so they got less time to develop things to put in the games , that's why from XY onward there are massive cut content in every new games, because they cant keep up with the annual release date.
And with an HD console it wen all much worse, LGPE was barebone and had only 151 pokemon and now they hare cutting half of the total and removing Megas and Z moves because they cank keep up with development time.
GF reached their limit, they had to break the anual release or they will die miserabily.
