Not adding in certain pokemon should've allowed them to improve in other areas such as graphics, animations, literally anything they could think of. Instead, we are getting the same half polished attempt, with default XY models and animations being used and 256x256 textures being plastered on a supposed next gen game. Overworld sprites being faded in and out at a short render distance screams a lack of optimisation, sub par utilisation of the switchs capabilities and incompetence at an almost offensive level.
No one is expecting a game every two years. That's unreasonable. What we are expecting is a game that can show their fanbase that they are giving it the effort above the bare minimum.
There is literally no reason to cut Pokemon from the game, anyone defending this is genuinely deluded. Gamefreak have done this out of either sheer laziness, ignorance or an inability to adapt to an advanced world of game programming.
