Pokemon is so fucking huge at this point that unless the games start selling literal billions, the money they lose on the games not selling as well as they could've is fucking peanuts compared to how much money they'd lose if the anime and the TCG and the toys and every single fucking Pokemon product out there had to stop existing for half a year.

Game Freak would probably be sued into fucking oblivion by the toy companies that have shit tons of gen 8 plastic toys put into production ready for a November release if they tried to say "hurr durr you can't release them in November after all, just make some new gen 7 toys or something lol.

They're not gonna put the entire franchise on hold just to appease some manbabies

All of that shit takes time to produce, time they don't have this close to release. A delay is something they have to be told about well ahead of time so they can plan accordingly.

This isn't like how the franchise was able to adapt when Gens 2 and 4 got delayed. This time, the Gen 8 stuff is too far into production for them to stop working on it and revisit older stuff.

People have been VERY tolerant of GameFreaks shit quality these last couple of years, but this decision was the breaking point for a lot of people. If the animations were good (they aren't) and the game was balanced (its not) we could give their excuse SOME credit.
If it wasn't a multi billion dollar industry with as many resources as they need to make the game, and was a smaller studio, I can understand the excuse.
Laziness is the only explanation that makes sense and I'm happy lots of people are justifiably pissed off.
