>>38953223I suppose there's a fundamental difference in what many ROM hackers want to create. Many people want to make ROM hacks to realize their own ideas of a Pokemon region, so that often leads to hacks that don't appeal to everyone's sensibilities because they are their own target audience.
I often see posts saying that Fakemon are a huge red flag, for example, but I myself would not want to make a ROM hack without Fakemon in it. I want Fakemon, so if I didn't include them the hack would stop being my own and the point would be basically lost.
