Okay, i've been out of the loop since i've been so busy this week....what the hell is the deal with the limited amount of pokemon, and why are people complaining? Pokemon games have been doing this since Gen VI, right? Noone expects literally every single pokemon to be obtainable in the wild and thats fine.

It's not that you can't find them in the region
it's that they literally cannot be put in the game unless they're in the regional pokedex
and every game in the future is going to have their own arbitrary dex so you're essentially paying to gamble for your favourite to be in the game

Dude. That's not what they're saying.

ONLY the Pokemon in the wild will be in the game. So if Torterra isn't in the Galar Pokedex, you can't even bring it to the game. Ever. Not even after post game. They straight-up didn't even program them, and they also said they aren't planning on adding the old Pokemon later via update.

Oh, and Z-Moves and Megas are dead too.

Fuck this game.

All 800 something mons were coded in LGPE, so they either removed them or they created a whole fucking new engine, or they're just lying and they're arbitrarily locked out of the game.

Surely this is bait. If you're going to be "out of the loop" and then make some grandiose condemnation on THOUSANDS of people, maybe do 2 seconds of research first. Maybe use some common sense "hm, this is something that has been happening since the franchises beginning, but now there is a HUGE outrage, maybe there is something more to it that I should look in to."

They won't even be in the code. Basically means certain pokemon would be temporarily retconned for a generation and this "rostering" policy will continue with all new games.

No I saw the clip, surely something must have been lost in translation Do they really expect us to pay for Bank AND Home but if we send pokemon to Home there are a large portion of them that will be unusable? So that means we'll have to keep the services of both storage systems open if we ever want to use them again? That doesn't sound right.

But thinking that something is unreasonable means Gamefreak won't do it? You must be new to the fucking franchise, fucking retard. They blatantly said in multiple interviews that not all pokemon could be brought to galar, they figured they couldn't keep supporting all pokemon forever, and one or two interviews HEAVILY implied that no pokemon game will ever again have access to all pokemon, and each game will have a "pool" of compatible pokemon while the rest get benched.

I'm worried about Masuda's comment on famitsu that says there are no plans to patch them in. It means that it's like XY - ORAS situation with the locked pokemon like Rayquaza knowing Dragon Ascent.
You can transfer them to SWSH's third version, but not to SWSH itself (if they decide not to patch them).

consider this is like a new red version in terms of this being the flagship now. they will probably balance as they go game to game adding back in mons when applicable. I bet by 2022 we'll be back at 100 percent usability

Its fucking not, we KNOW its not.

The Pokemon are not in the game and Gamefreak has no plans to change this. They will now do this for every game going forward. This is all 100% right from Masuda. We will never have a Pokemon game with every Pokemon in it again, they're only going to make games with a select set of Pokemon they pick.
