Common sense. You had all the evidence:
- GF hadn't been able to pull off consistent framerate since the GBA
- HGSS and Gen 5 were filled with so many forced story segments
- the gameplay footage for XY looked terrible

I quit when I saw that B2W2 would have a much longer intro. I hated the cutscenes in BW so I just stopped buying mainline games then and there. I emulated B2 years later and had some fun but I'm so glad I didn't pay for it because those story segments are godawful. I can't fathom how worse they got with Gen 6 and 7.
