RSE had actual hardware reasons for that, and there were no transfers at all.

in SWSH there are transfers. but only for whatever pokemon get arbitrarily selected

RSE was a fresh start by neccesity. SWSH isnt that, just laziness and favoritism

It's a little different in that RSE still had all of those Pokemon coded in. You are right that it's a similar incident but the way Sword and Shield are looking now, many Pokemon simply won't exist in the game whatsoever.
Adding a disclaimer for RSE might be helpful though.

they also said that usum was going to have "ultra changes" and swsh was going to be a game for veteran fans. game freak says a lot of things.

That's why the models are commissioned to Creatures Inc. and not GF themselves which, by the way, are known to work on every single pokemon/form etc. ALL IN ONE TIME like we saw with XY models and the running/walking animations that were leaked inside the SM files which included everything, even things you wouldn't see normally like megas. So this means that Gamefreak probably already received all the updated models for Switch games

Might want to add the "high quality animations" thing. We haven't seen any new animations except swimming for Pokemon in water, walking/running animations have been present for ALL Pokemon since Sun and Moon (a game from 2 and a half years ago)

There is a simple test to find out, if a Pokémon is garbage. It is called the Mew test. Mew is an ideal Pokémon with 100 BP in each state, a neutral typing, an average ability and a giant movepool. Whenever A Pokémon cannot fill a niche, which can be filled with Mew, it is considered to be garbage. All those garbagemons can make the cut without changing anything in competitive play.

For example, let's take Azelf. It has the same typing as Mew, but a higher speed and Attack. So it can fill the role as a Stealth Rock setter with Double Screen and Explosion better than Mew.

RSE had hardware reasons to why they couldn’t transfer Pokemon and they still had every Pokemon in the code.
SWSH literally doesn’t and people have been speculating that it’s because of Dynamaxing having every Pokemon with multiple models (which considering GameFreak’s record, it wouldn’t be surprising)

Gen III didn't let you catch any of the first 251 Pokemon and even after the remakes were released you couldn't get a complete Pokedex unless you also bought a side game, GF could have easily not even made Pokemon Home and say they couldn't find a way to port old Pokemon at all, and that everyone should wait for the remakes if they wanted old Pokemon.

The only two non-mythical Pokemon you needed side games to get were Lugia and Ho-oh. Gen 3 just counted them both as Mythical and didn't require them for dex completion.
