It really depends on the anime staff though, if they give it to whoever made XY we will have a cooking faggot and Shield (or they could even bring back Shitrena), if they give it to the SM crew, Ash could transfer to a new school with Shield and the Ginger waifu and maybe bring someone from Alola along (though I doubt it), the plot would be the same as in SM but he has field trips to the gyms instead.
