Genuine question, no shitflinging.

What would it take for you to not want to buy a new Pokémon game?
What failure in gameplay or design philosophy can you imagine that would completely turn you off from the series?

Gen 7 as a whole was a fucking piece of steaming garbage, but gen 8 looks good so far.

I buy Pokemon games for the "experience." I play for the story, characters, new Pokemon, gym battles, and messing around online after I beat the game. Yes I unironically play for the story, I cried during XY and loved the world building + characters in SM.

I'm really bummed out about the National Dex situation, but I've pretty much played every game for it's base content, as in training and breeding around what's offered from the start. I couldn't imagine what it would take for me to stop playing since everything I enjoy is so basic.

If it is a remakes I dont give a shit about. (My main reason for not buying LGPE. Never played Yellow, or Red/Green for that matter. Gen 2/3/4 already taught me what Kanto is)
Cant afford the console.
I cant really think what else really. Other than the game looking like absolute garbage, horrific reviews, or unfinished buggy mess.
