I was defending it on grounds that ut would make the game more of an actual RPG, improve quality on the pomemon included over quantity and cut down on autism and esport faggotry, but then again I think I was fooling myself because I have known for years how incapable of pulling off technical feats like high quality 3D animation they are. They don't have the willpower to skip the games and are desperatly trying to justify their weakness by downplaying the games faults or projecting their need to buy it on others insisting they'll buy it anyway. They also don't seem to realize this bad press can only have a positive effect and absolute worse case nothing happens.

I don't call it defending, but I'm ok with it since I don't transfer my Pokemon down anyway and I already saw a bunch of my favorites in the footage. I'd prefer to have all the Pokemon at some point, but I'm not going to skip the game just because some ones I didn't care about anyway are gone.
