I still wanna wait for more info before I join this hate train, since for all we know, it might only be Legendary Pokemon that aren't in the Galar dex, and every regular mon is available. It wouldn't be the first time they've been so disconnected from fans that they revealed the bad half of a whole announcement.
There's also the possibility that Nintendo was the one behind the change, forcing GF to do it to make the series more marketable, and the sudden announcement of the culling was done by Masuda on purpose to create the backlash needed to show Nintendo how bad of an idea it is to remove mons.
You would have assumed they would save such an important piece of info for when they reveal more Pokemon HOME features.
