You can trade with FRLG, Colosseum and XD. As well as get them all through various glitches (double corruption/pomeg glitch). Or, at the very least, just fucking hack them in since all of them are actually in the fucking code, retard.

Not to mention, that in RSE's case, it was a matter of hardware compatibility that simply didn't fucking exist because Nintendo didn't want to spend money developing the means to do it, and the only people interested in it were GameFreak. Now, that's not the fucking case, is it?

I mean the Game Boy and Game Boy Advance weren't designed with each other in mind outside of playing each other's games. Every pokemon is still in the game, you just have to trade with other games within the generation. All are available across all games.

Emerald inherited a lot of QoL enhancements from FRLG, making it ostensibly the best gen 3 game.

This. People were livid that their old mons had to be left behind, but at least they were eventually all obtainable again. If RS retconned out the 184 mons not in its dex entirely, Pokemon would've likely died on the spot.

When RS came out you had no access to most Pokemon for two years until FRLG came out, and then you had to wait another year to access the rest with Emerald, and it cost $40 for each game. The culling is retarded as fuck but it's way better than the Gen 3 mess, because at least I'll be able to use my old Pokemon in a new game eventually, while Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon were stuck there forever.

Nope. Masuda confirmed it. It was a decition for space and "quality". When New pokémon came out (remake, third version, whatever) you will not be able to trade pokémon outside Galar dex because they're not programmed.

Hardware incompatibility was also an issue. Back then there wasn't dual cart options, not to mention a gbc link cable cannot work with gba games, and gba link cables cannot function for gbc games. It was a hard line
