Playing black right now and I'm in need of a water type, what are some good ones? I chose snivy and I just got to driftveil city

I'd go for Swanna, you get it on the bridge to Driftveil
works especially well with Roost and the Rocky Helmet just above the Cold Storage

I like Carracosta.
After you get the fossil on the desert catacomb you can immediately go back to Nacrene City (second gym) to revive it.
It takes a few minutes because you don't have Fly yet, but if you got the Bike on Nimbasa City (third gym) it can be done pretty quick.

Yeah I'm stuck on what to choose because I don't want to overlap types, I have a krokorok and he is part ground type. Seems seismitoad is my only option though :/

I love Gen5. It's my favorite set of games. That being said Snivy is a piece of shit ingame. It learns no moves and you're stuck with fucking Normal and Grass moves until you get Dragon Pulse.

One flaw of the games that the Gen5 haters never mention (because they never played the game) is that there are only two starter choices: Tepig and Oshawott.

I love Snivy's design and was so eager to pick him back when I first played Black... He ended up being the first starter I ever boxed. I have a very strong "no starter boxing" policy but he was just SO bad. I replaced him with Leavanny who did everything he did but better and never looked back. In Black2 I went straight to Oshawott and my god, what a difference. This little guy actually kicks ass.

You don't need a single HM in BW beyond the initial Cut. They're still useful for a bunch of things and unlocking some content but they're not required.

Kinda bummed to find out snivy isn't good but honestly? He is a very valuable team member for me, he just fucking tears. That might be because he is over leveled but the 3 times I've played through black, he has always been my go to. I can see why people think he is bad though because against oshawatt and tepig its obvious

normal mons can learn surf, technically your only worry is a waterfall mon which is post game stuff
