this is the only gen in which the starters are mono type, so it would be fun if the megas gave them a dual type equal to the type of their rival starter.

Meganium would become Grass/Fire
Typhlosion would become Fire/Water
Feraligatr would become Water/Grass

for me, I really liked the concept of mega evos, the execution was off in many cases, but I think the biggest offender is that the Gen 6 starters never even got Mega evolutions while Gen 1 and Gen 3 starters did.

had I only limited power, I would want to make sure at least all starters from the other gens got at least 1 mega evolution.

Typhlosion with stab ground would finally get a chance to use earthquake or better yet earthpower. At this point physical thyplosion is better than the special one because it has a fucking move pool.

for typhlosion I had an idea that works off the honey badger, he goes back to being quadrupedal and what's white fur on the real-life honey badger would be fire on mega typhlosion. It would also be decent justification for a secondary ground type because honey badgers are relentless burrowers. Maybe an ability that works like a defiant but increases special attack.

I do like the corpse flower motif for megaganium though, it could gain poison typing and an ability that causes grass attacks to have a chance of inflicting poison.
