Back after a few weeks hiatus and I see all these threads about Pokemon disappearing and I'm guessing it is related to SW/SH. What did I miss?

Not all Pokemon will be compatible in SW/SH. Basically the same as Let's Go not being compatible with Pokemon after Kanto (except Meltan)

Pokemon Sword and Shield will not include every Pokemon. The Nationaldex no longer exists.
And I don't mean you simply can't find most Pokemon in the game and trade them in, I mean you literally can never find or transfer them. They're not in the game's code. For no reason other than incompetence.
We don't know all the Pokemon that are or aren't making it, but, for example, if Walrein doesn't make the cut, you'll never see a Walrein in Sword and Shield ever.

Bad move!
If it isn't in the Galar Pokedex, you cannot put it into Sword and Shield. Because previous gens to Home is one way, you cannot put the Pokemon outside of the Pokedex back into any games. They are stuck in the Retirement Home until maybe possibly you get the chance to use them in another game. Thanks for the money.
