It was one of the only times they actively did something purely for that, I think. There have been a few instances of at least a bit of romance though.
Yancy a cute, never ever in another game, sadness. Unless Pokemon Masters manages to bring her along for some reason, same with Curt

It's good because it's optional so if you're not a waifufag you can just avoid Yancy subplot
The problem with Shauna/Rirrie is sthey're shoved down your throat
Plus she's cuter than Shauna and Rirrie

They actually slowly built up a romance and they were really cute and likable love interests. I liked how they kinda lived this double life as these super famous celebrities but kept it a secret to be seen as a normal person. I was always so mad that there was never a direct love confession
