It's kinda the opposite, Habu wants to eventually add all Digimon, starting with Obscure ones, as for those, we got a shit ton of Pikachu variants too, that also includes Cosplay Pikachu.

The sad thing is as of Hacker's Memory's 321 roster, only 22 are Recolors, and they even have unique animations compared to each other, even if we include all 1100+ Digimon, only a small percentage are recolors, and with how the games are handling them, that's not much to worry about.

do you even know what a recolor is? agumon x, agumon 06, and toyagumon aren't recolors, they're different subspecies with different evolution lines.
look no further than yo-kai watch if you want to see a series that actually has too many recolors. the amount of jibanyan variants alone puts pikachu and agumon to shame.
