Cherrim carried the shit out of my most recent OR run that I had to intentionally keep it underleveled. Probably helps that a good part of the second half of the game is weak to grass.
Outside that, I’ve used Light Ball Pikachu a few times like in Platinum and Sun, and it always surprises me how hard it actually hits with Volt Tackle.

As someone who sucks balls at nuzlockes, I found Hypno to be absurdly reliable throughout the course of a FireRed run. Honorable mention goes to Sawk. Usually, I don't like overly relying on a single mon, but I didn't really like a lot of my team in Black but I also autistically refused to get rid of them so I just Sawk whenever I could and he ended the game a good 15 levels higher than anyone else on my team.

Leavanny is a pretty good Pokemon ingame too. Not much coverage, but Leaf Blade and X-Scissor still tear through a good number of things.

Honestly its just because the rest of my team was total garbage, but still my opinion of this mon increased a lot after having him in my team.

Replaying Gen 2 through Crystal Clear, and Noctowl has been one of my best party members. Fly makes her untouchable for every other turn, Hypnosis is useful for catching, and Dream Eater means she's able to recover health. She's taken out a bunch of gyms singlehandedly.

The NPCs cannot switch so they are not difficult in any manner. Most ingame people are so retarded they dont realize spamming Screech and Metal Sound wins battles due the retards never switching.
