>>39018048>The real question is why the hell do Dynamax pokemon have completely unique models?STOP SPREADING THIS FAKE NEWS HOLY FUCK.
People keep saying this without knowing jack shit about how games work.
They don't have a "separate model" and they likely DO just scale up the pokemon and instantiate a "dynamax_storm.prefab" into the Pokemon's object hierarchy.
The only reason faggots are claiming that's how it works is because that clip of Steelix popping in. But it clearly didn't pop in because of loading a model, it popped in because of some bugged or shit camera script.
The camera before that shot was angled looking straight at Arcanine in such a way Steelix would have gotten in the way of the shot. In situations like this, the common practice is to turn off the rendering of the object obstructing the shot then turning that rendering back on when the camera changes angle.
But for some reason their script skipped turning Steelix back on until after the panning animation had completed. To me it seems there's some kind of check to turn on culled objects before the Camera moves, but for some reason in that one instance the script fucked up and didn't turn Steelix back on. Then at the end of the clip it did the check again cause the camera was about to move and finally realized Steelix was still set to invisible so it turned it back on.
It's a shitty culling bug, not some bullshit about having "mulitple models". And it's exactly the kind of shit that gets fixed in these last months, a rare bug found in a demo needing to be ironed out before the final release.
There's so much other legitimately bad shit you could go on about. Stop using fucking fake news.
