Pokemon is supposed to be about training and catching wild beasts, that are in-universe no different to a wild animal from our world, aside from the occasional legendary.
This is why I don't like Mega Evolutions and Z-moves, they feel like something that belongs in Digimon or a bad anime, they take away from the experience of being a beast trainer and make it more like you're some kind of chosen one kid that is bound to a superpowered monster or some superhero shit like that.
