If you regret transferring any of your Pokemon to Alola, you can always send them back to Kalos or Hoenn by using a hacked 3DS and PKSM.

All my bros are on XY since I never bothered with SM after completing and deleting the game a week before release with the Lurantis leak. I was thinking about eventually getting a legit Ultra Sun, but with Dexit. I'm glad they're still in Kalos. Maybe I'll start a new collection of bros in Heart Gold. Gen 3 and 4 had so much life and game compatibility with their extra features and console games.
