No stereotypical edgy ghost pokedex entries, instead it's about being a manmade pokemon that actually gets along with people for once. Unique typing for Gen 5 and it has the moves to use it, too.
Golurk just takes this even further. The biggest thing is being able to fly and even learn Fly and fill that need without looking using a flying type or levitate pokemon with wings for once. Similarly, its arms are retractable and it can get air with those, as seen in pokepark 2. From the same game, it can also retract its limbs into a cannon shape and fire projectiles from its body. The seal on its chest containing its power is also a neat detail. This is all if you go past the face value that it's a fucking hulking golem made out of animated clay that'll smash your face in on command.
Whether it's cooler than some other ghost is another thing, but you're on some shit if you think Golett and Golurk aren't at least good on their own.
