Now, this is actually true: They are remaking the models and textures on the switch.
In Lets Go this change already happened to the partner Pokémon (Pic related)
Pikachu got a texture upgrade, and the mouth, cheeks and eyes are part of the model instead of being part of the texture.
This is ok, the Pokémon look better, and now is much more understandable the fact that they can fit all the Pokémon in time. Now here is the issue

WHY ARE YOU CUTTING POKÉMON BECAUSE OF IT!? YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL THE POKÉMON MODELED AND TEXTURED FROM THE 3DS AT HIGH DEFINITION

They still look fine. Just because they are in the switch instead will make them look much better than in the 3DS
I'm very confident that Surskit fans will prefer a Surskit with an "outdated" texture and model than no Surskit at all. I'm confident that people will not get mad seeing the fan favorites with new textures and models and the less popular Pokémon unchanged if they know the alternative is them not existing

Goddammit Gamefreak why wasn't this your first option? You should NEVER prioritize visuals over content
