Except for the first 2 towns, every other city in the region has an unique theme and feel to it, making it the region with the best cities. Castelia is by far their most ambitious attempt to simulate a bustling city, even if its music was a bit jarring.
Both Victory Roads are the peak of that concept, with that build up on BW1 and the amazing composed dungeon of the sequels.
Seasons helped make things more immersive, but they should've been weekly.
The starting areas of both games managed to recapture a sense of wonder and fresh adventure I hadn't felt since Crystal as a kid.
And to top it all, I unironically love a lot of the dex. People constantly give it a bad rep for its bad sheeps to the point it has become a meme. But for me it gave me some of my all time favorite normal, fire, ghost, grass and bug types.
