I dislike most mega evolution entries due bucausae they tend to demonize the mechanic. In XY it was all about a pokemon's bond with its trainer making it more powerful but suddenly there's this bullshit about making the pokemon grow insane or causing it pain. It's obvious they wanted to drop te mechanic from Sun/Moon onward but they could've done it in a less insulting way.

Seriously it's disgusting. Megas were said to be "highest bond between trainer and mon" and when Z-Move came to replace it they retcon it and said "Uh megas are brutal and cruel to the pokemon". Fuck Gamefreak.

Any entry about pokemon eating each others.
It feels like some out-of-place edgy crap as you never see it in the games and the supposed "predators" can be put in the same team as their "prey" and even breed with them.
I'd rather they kept real life's dumb animals as canonically existing to serve as preys for pokemon who would be superior entities who don't eat each others.

This. Absolutely this. It annoys me to no end that GF decided to answer "wait, to animals actually exist?" with "No! No they don't! ALL REFERENCES ARE RETCONNED NOW! MEAT IS MADE OF POKEMON NOW!!!!!". It would have been much better implications-wise to just simply say "animals did exist, but they're irrelevant to a pokemon journey, so why do you care?", but nooooo, JP writers can't seem to live without continually complicating their fictional universes with stupid "retcon-as-lore" answers to simple questions. It's so simple, and it avoids the horrifying revelation of a world where people are totally fine eating sentient or near-sentient animal-things.

What's ironic about this, about 12 or 13 years ago, I remember reading the Pokemon mailbag on the main website, and someone posed a question regarding a scene in Destiny Deoxys where they're all eating burgers, and someone asked if they were made from Miltanks.

TPC's answer was no, Pokemon are not eaten, it's a normal animal.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to verify, but I wouldn't doubt it if it were some weird kinda change in corporate philosophy later on that brought it about. Like, they wanted to strip out as many externalities as possible, meaning that instead of ignoring those kinds of questions, or answering with what seems obvious, the answer has to always return to pokemon.

Religion? Pokemon.
Sports? Pokemon.
Food? Pokemon.

I mean, going by anime appearance, there are a few other similar things like that, like them wanting to eat a Magikarp. The difference is scale. There were one or two mentions of things like that, but then you also had references to animals, so it was less like a commonplace activity, and more like a delicacy. I'd say a good comparison is monkeys: Some cultures eat them as a delicacy. It'd sound weird to hear of a culture that subsists meat-wise exclusively on monkeys and other similar animals.
