Couch co-op makes the game even easier and doesn't belong in a pokemon game whatsoever
Also, why contests? I'm sure they'll have some other nonsense to fill in the void. Contests were a pain in the ass

No one really cares about them. If they were more interesting (ie. your character rides the Pokemon, you have to attack quickly, there are obstacles you fly and gain points or something) I'd sure miss them

Again, if those were 2 vs 2, I'd miss them, too. Sadly, they made an already easy game baby proof

Actually good non-battle related things. Also adding Pokemon Amie minigames, Ultra Wormholes, Mantine Surf, Super Secret Bases, Surfing Pikachu, Voltorb Flip, Underground, Room customization from GSC, Musicals (which could be merged with Contests and make them actually interesting), and Wi-Fi Plaza. Fuck, how they delete all the minigames and non-battle stuff
>Mega Evolution, Z-Moves and Elemental Gems
Although battles are already cramped, tweaking those mechanics to make them different to Dynamax could work; also, making only one of those gimmicks availiable per team would make things pretty interesting and maybe less broken
>National Dex
Fuck 'em. I want every mon, even if I'm not really a fan of some of them they are someone's bro

Other things I really miss:
>Battle Frontier (especially the PtHGSS one)
>Seasons (at least fixing them so items and paths can be accessed at any season, but with a bit more of a challenge or something)
>Poke Pelago
>Pokeradar, consecutive fishing, Friend Safari, Dexnav
>Pokedex functions (search by habitat, compare size to the trainer, footprints)
>Menu and Box customization

The Elemental Gems are just worse Z-moves. They could only be used offensively and required way more planning, while Z moves let you be more creative with sets.

This is like complaining about the removal of Amie in Alola simply because Refresh is slightly different.

Because I'd love to have the Pokémon I've caught and raised from generations after those features were introduced to be able to enjoy said features. I'd love to have a Talonflame compete in the Pokéathlon or farm items in Super Training with a Passimian.
