>>39051701>lgpe removed pokemon from the games without letting you transfer them in. swsh removed pokemon from the games without letting you transfer them in.LGPE was a Gen 1 remake that used exclusively Gen 1 Pokemon (besides the tacked on mythical line) instead of being cumulative. You weren't even allowed to get connected pre/evolutions. S/S is cumulative for the whole history of the actual mainline games, with cuts made not defined by any pre-established groupings. It being cumulative where LGPE is not supports that difference in inheritance of the value of being mainline.
>lgpe removed multiple mechanics from battle, such as abilities and held items. swsh removed multiple mechanics from battle, such as megas and z-moves.This is not parallel. Mechanics were established each gen until Gen 4, after which nothing new was added. Gen 6's Megas and Gen 7's Z-moves are gimmicks that are sub-categories of actual mechanics, i.e. held items, just as Gen 5's Hidden Abilities are sub-categories of Abilities. S/S has not removed any mechanics in that regard, and LGPE is unfaithful to the label of "mainline" for having actually done so.
>lgpe shilled kanto as much as possible. swsh is shilling kanto as much as possible.Every Pokemon game shills Kanto in some shape or form, even yes, BW. That's what happens when Kanto is the starting point of the franchise.
>lgpe was advertised as "a pokemon title for everyone, including longtime fans," but did absolutely nothing to get longtime fans on board. swsh was advertised as "a game for hardcore fans of the series," but did absolutely nothing to get longtime fans on board. This is irrelevant because not only is this marketing babble meant to push games by GF, but the 'nothing to get longtime fans on board' part depends on whom you ask. There are mainline games and non-mainline games alike other than those two that do and do not get longtime fans on board.
