Which region is the best lore-wise? I don't mean regarding the games (no need to start a gen war).
Alola is a popular tourist destination so is it the region with the best quality of life?

I think it's Hoenn. Since Alola is so touristy they have to keep it clean and friendly looking which is why they have so many cops and government stuff around. In Hoenn, if you want you can just fuck off to some sandy islet and sleep and fish all day, in Alola they would probably kick you out for doing that.

Kanto has a lot of crime and all the natural places are dangerous to be.

Johto seems to have very rude people.

Kalos could be nice if you like busy, snooty life that revolves around Lumiose city. For urban lifestyles it would be more pleasant than Hoenn.

I think there's a good amount of people that don't like how touristy and tropical it feels.

I personally don't find tropical areas comfy. I'd rather go to Greenland or Canada.
