What would make you buy SwSh?

Sword and Shield will be shipping on a 59,99 USD full price despite the snap, the terrible graphics, the cut content and the terrible animations. People are not excited at all for it.

How can GameFreak actually save Pokémon? What would convince you to actually buy it despite all of its flaws?

Hidden ability capsule

At least 5 mythicals and special move pokemon available out of events a la deoxys.

PWT

Rematches

At least 80 new pokemon

Being able to farm bottle caps quicker

Pokemon home being free or at a reduced price.

Some way to actually change IVs that aren't as ballbustingly slow and luck based as getting bottle caps in Alola.

i think the main baseline things we should be getting out of a console pokemon game in 2019 are:
>great fidelity, no n64 tier textures. mimic sugimori's artwork and the anime in terms of visuals like dbfz mimics toriyama's work. fluid animation
>more interactability with the world. expanded secret bases, free-motion control so that you can actuslly exist on a z coordinate: like, properly flying and riding pokemon. following pokemon should be a standard
>meaty postgame for non smogonfriends. battle frontier, pwt, a mini-region, gym rematches, contests, fucking whatever
>more exciting map design, to go with interactability. expanded dungeons, more side routes and backtracking for less linearity, fucking bring back event legendary locations jesus christ

It ain't just $60. I don't have a Switch, so they have to convince me to drop $300 on a console too. Then $20 to use my own internet connection to trade with people online (gotta thank the xbots for showing console makers that players can be nickel and dimed like that). This is an uphill battle for my money that Sword and Shield must fight alone, because the only other game on Switch that I really wanted lost its exclusivity to Steam.

Pokemon is too god damn easy you are basically paying for a game with nothing to overcome and you just go through the motions. There is no critical thinking in the base games battles and you can beat the entirety of all the games with just a single jacked up overleveled pokemon.

The rest of the stuff people are pissed about is honestly just the culmination of all the laziness of the past three gens. The only thing out of the ordinary I didn't expect to be pissed about was the removal of pokemon, which is the only reason I buy these games.

Not including all of the mons has made me cynical toward the entire series. But from observation this series will *never* reach its full potential. All of the elements of the perfect Pokemon game are scattered across 20 different titles and it's like they deliberately avoid curating the best features to make the best game. Also the graphics suck dick.

Nintendo declares that it has reached an agreement with Game Freak and that from this point on the game will be developed as follow:
- Nintendo is in charge of production + planning + game design
- Game Freak is charge of Pokémon design (must be based on existing animals and nothing else) + character design + input on game design
- Creatures remains in charge of 3D Pokémon modelling and animation
- Monolith Soft is in charge of world design
- Some contracted studio is in charge of programming
- Some contracted studio is in charge of assets creation
Also
- All popular cuts features will be brought back
- National Pokédex will be brought back
- No more dual release
- No more enhanced version
- Remakes once in a while but not after each mainline game
- 4 years development per title. Two titles in production at the same time so we get one new game every 2 years.

Regarding S&S in particular:
- Delayed until November 2020 so that such structure can be implemented
- The game looks decent graphically and runs well
- National Pokédex is back
