That's not how animating a pokémon moving around works though. They code where it semi-randomly goes. You can't just use a spline, otherwise all wingulls would either move the exact same way or have to be animated individually. But they could have coded smoother rotations that would have fit better for flying pokémon.

Yeah, that's definitely less than an inch between them, but they're still floating. With the technology we've seen the Pokémon world to have, I honestly wouldn't think twice of holsters that keep Poké Balls suspended in the air near them, so I just gave that a pass the moment I saw it.

He may have had some influence on their thinking but there's no evidence of even that.

Ishihara, despite also being the main fucking guy at TPC for nearly 2 decades said he only realized last year that Pokémon moves units too though so he's demonstrably completely retarded.

A big part of the complaints is that Masuda said that they're cutting stuff BECAUSE they're increasing quality, animations, redoing models, rebalancing, fidelity, etc. We obviously haven't seen much beyond the jump in internal resolution from going from gamecube tier hardware to the switch
Masuda also said some 8 months ago in an interview(SS has been in development for 3 years) that it would be wrong to cut pokemon out of the games

By the way incase anyone is wondering why they always do this with Double Kick, it's because it's a multiple hit animation and they think adding the kick animation for every single hit would get tedious. Not saying this is a good choice, but it's not due to laziness at least.

Also, BotW has fewer and lower polygon models on screen than SnS, plus no wireless calculations to perform, but I doubt that has anything to do with the tree's texture quality compared to SnS's.
