And sure, GO had Gen 4 Pokemon. But there were a lot of people that stopped playing GO once they starting adding later gens. The Facebook millenials the games were aimed at are fucking autistic and don't want a single thing to do with anything non Gen 1 cause it's not what they grew up with.
They were trying to squeeze as much as they could out of that crowd, so it was better to just leave later gens out rather than have them in to appease a crowd they didn't care about.
