Haven't played a Pokemon game since Black, like, 8 years or some shit. How do the newer games fare excluding let's go pokemon? ( XY. Omega ruby and sapphire. Sun and moon)

They're shit. Black/White 2 are the last good games. The 3DS games are only good for making it much easier to build a valuable collection without injecting and the culling for SS means that quality is now worth fuck all. Play Black 2, connect the save file to Black 1 if you still have the cart, then consider the franchise dead.

Don't bother, the formula never bothered to improve or adapt since BW
All you'll be getting is terrible framerate cutscenes, even more handholding, and gameplay that doesn't involve you unless you cripple yourself with an onslaught of Nuzlocke rules

I wouldn't suggest going back in. Everything since the jump to 3D has been a disappointment. Treasure the end of the DS era and don't look back.

They're only really enjoyable if your a zoomer with no attention span (like me) who thinks the flashy particle affects are cool.
Aside from that, the DS games have way more actual quality content and post game.
