They'll assume the backlash is just about the national dex and patch it in around the time Home comes out, which IS totally fine, but the backlash extends beyond that. It goes to the graphics, the battle animation/style, the difficulty.
But the fact that it circles around the national dex means the next games will yet again be XY HD 4.
